You are very welcome to Youthreach Macroom. We are an alternative education
centre and offer a second chance at education to a whole range of
different students.
Our main aim is to help our students to improve their future prospects, through education, work experience and personal development to suit their own needs and levels. Our current students are aged between 15 and 21 local schools, from the workplace, are new arrivals into the area or need additional education or skills to be ready to move on to the next stage of their education, training or career.
We currently offer FETAC courses at levels 3, and 4, ECDL, work experience, enterprise projects amd outward bound programmes. we have run 'Drive for Life' and car maintenance programmes, 'Safe Pass' courses sailing and sporting days. We also have regular student council and enterprise projects including web design and a market stall.
We welcome the participation of students and their families in the running of the centre and would very much like to hear from you. If you would like to see the centre or have any questions about the programmes on offer, please don't hesitate to contact me or any of our staff.
Recently we have completed our Centre Development Plan as part of the Quality Framework Initiative. We have made these documents available for your benefit.
